Red Cross Blood Drive Thursday June 25th at St. Francis of Assisi Church

American Red Cross Blood Drive 06/25/26

St. Francis of Assisi Church partners with American Red Cross to host community blood drive.

Location:  16770 13th St S, Lake St Croix Beach, MN on Thursday June 25th from 12:00pm to 6:00pm.

For more information or to make an appointment to donate, scan QR code above or sign up online at redcrossblood.org. Scroll down and enter Afton Lakeland in the middle of the main screen where it asks for Zip, which is just left of where it says Make an Appointment. You can also scan the barcode in the upper right of this document with your phone to access the website. If you need help, please call Ralph at 952-221-3460.

St. Francis of Assisi is committed to strengthening our community and helping meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations. “This blood drive is our way of giving staff, colleagues and neighbors an opportunity to be a hero and help save lives.”

Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors like yourselves. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished.

“We urge community members to donate blood and help ensure that patients in local hospitals have a supply of blood ready and waiting before an emergency occurs. There’s no better feeling than knowing that your blood donation may give someone a second chance at life.”

According to the Red Cross, donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative. The Red Cross is offering a $15 gift card to everyone who donates in June plus a chance to win $7.5K in prizes.

Well Abandonment Grant Application

Washington County Well Sealing Grants

Note: Due to the increased need for the Department of Public Health and Environment to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, the well sealing grant process may be delayed.

Property owners in the county may be eligible for financial assistance for sealing abandoned wells. Based on the property location and available funds, property owners may be eligible for 50% or 100% cost-share assistance, up to $2,000, in the form of reimbursement grants.

50% Cost-Share Assistance

Under this program, applicants chosen for funding will be reimbursed up to 50 percent of the well sealing costs with a maximum of $2,000. This is open to all areas within the county, while funds exist.

100% Cost-Share Assistance

The county has Clean Water Fund dollars from the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources, as well as 3M Settlement funds through the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, for well sealing. Under this program, applicants chosen for funding will be reimbursed for 100% of the well sealing cots, up to $2,000, in targeted areas of the county. This includes areas within a Drinking Water Supply Management Area (DWSMA) or in areas of contamination, such as PFAS contaminated areas. Staff will confirm your eligibility through the application process, as areas of contamination are updated.

Harmful Substance Compensation Program

Harmful Substance Compensation Program The fact sheet, prepared by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) explains how individuals can get financial aid for property damage or personal injury caused by harmful chemical substances.
